Jelen tanulmányban roma többségű osztályokban tanító általános iskolai pedagógusok szerepfelfogását vizsgálom. A kutatás keretében 30 olyan pedagógussal készítettem félig strukturált interjút, akik a Csíki-medence (Hargita megye, Románia) olyan iskoláiban, osztályaiban tanítanak, ahol a roma tanulók aránya meghaladja a 25 százalékot. Hogyan értelmezik saját szerepüket ebben a folyamatban, mennyire tudnak azonosulni a kibővített szerepelvárásokkal? Hogyan küzdenek meg a különböző, egymásnak gyakran ellentmondó elvárásokkal, szerepkonfliktusokkal? Milyen siker- és kudarcélményeik vannak?
Kulcsszavak: roma többségű osztályok, pedagógusok szerepfelfogása, szerepkonfliktus, szerepazonosulás
In this study I examine the role perceptions of primary school teachers in Roma-majority classrooms. The research involved semi-structured interviews with 30 teachers who teach in schools and classrooms in the Csík Basin (Harghita County, Romania), where the proportion of Roma pupils exceeds 25%. I wanted to find out to what extent teachers consider the role of the teacher to be decisive in shaping the school careers of Roma children. How do they interpret their own role in this process, and to what extent can they identify with the expanded role expectations? How do they cope with different, often conflicting expectations and role conflicts? What are their experiences of success and failure?
Keywords: Roma-majority classrooms, teachers` role perception, role conflict, role identification
